About BUGS
What Is BUGS?
BUGS (Blind Using Guided Sights) is an indoor target shooting club for people with vision impairment or total blindness. Based in St Austell, the club uses specially adapted air rifles and acoustic technology to make shooting both safe and enjoyable. Members wear headphones and listen to sounds that help guide their aim. As the rifle moves closer to the target, the pitch of the sound rises. When the pitch is highest, it's time to shoot. Every session is supported by friendly volunteers who offer one-on-one guidance, always prioritizing safety and encouragement. Whether you’re completely new or already have experience, BUGS is a fun and welcoming place to build confidence, skill, and friendships. Did you know? BUGS has been helping members take aim since 2000 and proudly celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2025.
